The Adventures of Tyrolean Max Reisch

“The Adventures of Tyrolean Max Reisch” retraces the extraordinary life and early travels of Austrian explorer, researcher, and writer Max Reisch. Inspired by his legendary motorcycle expedition across North Africa, the documentary follows Gregor Bloéb and his son Gustav as they revisit the same desert routes, reflecting on the curiosity, courage, and spirit of discovery that defined Reisch’s life.

Directed by Markus Mörth with cinematography by Niki Waltl, the documentary blends historical storytelling with a present-day road adventure — capturing the landscapes, challenges, and emotional resonance of retracing a journey first taken nearly a century ago.

A substantial part of the documentary was filmed in Morocco, where deserts, mountains, and historic routes provided the natural canvas for the narrative. Our team delivered local production services in Morocco, supporting the creative and technical needs of the international crew on location.
