No wonder international photographers, fashion brands, and editorial teams are drawn here. But before a single shot is taken, one step is non-negotiable: securing the photography permit.
Why every project needs a photography permit
In Morocco, all professional photography projects are subject to permit requirements, regardless of scale or purpose. Whether you are planning a commercial campaign, fashion editorial, documentary stills, or branded content, authorization is mandatory. This permit is not limited to public spaces—it applies across the board and private venues or properties.

Processing times can vary. Smaller projects may be approved relatively quickly, while larger campaigns or projects involving multiple locations can take longer. Incomplete files often cause unnecessary delays, so preparing thoroughly from the outset is essential.
We advise applying at least three weeks before travelling. If your team requires entry visas for non-exempt countries, it is best to apply up to two months in advance of your travel into Morocco in order to avoid surprises, especially if you are required to submit your application in person at a Moroccan embassy.

Note that to bring in equipment with an ATA carnet into Morocco that you need to have your photography permit with you at the time of passing the Moroccan customs. We advise not to bring a drone into Morocco unless you have obtained a temporary importation permit. For short-term shoots, it is advisable to rent a drone together with a licensed local operator.
